I am touched when I read and reflect on St. Paul's words, "You are a letter of Christ" (2 Cor. 3:3). Analogically, it can be said, "You are a gospel." The Johannine gospel closes with a strong conviction that not all the words and deeds of Jesus were recorded in the gospels. There are only four canonical gospels but there can be more -- our very lives testifying to and proclaiming anew that Jesus is truly alive in our midst. |
