One can only testify if he has a personal experience. He is a reliable witness if he can say, "I was there. I saw it myself." In today's gospel, Jesus says we must testify because we were with him from the beginning. Do we have a personal encounter with the Lord? Have we experienced his presence? Do we meet him in our prayers and participation in the Eucharist? If we can honestly say Yes, then we can give a personal testimony. |
