The proverbial pain of childbearing which turns into a great joy upon seeing the child succinctly illustratres the interplay of sorrow brought about by Jesus' death and the joy that comes after his resurrection. This reflects our own human experience of grief that turns into gladness. We should not be discouraged by the darkness of winter but look forward to the brightness of spring. Life is both tears and cheers. There are trials. There are blessings, too. |
