All power, honor and glory belong to God. We ascribe to him what is due his name. In today's gospel, Jesus demonstrated his prudence in saying, "Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar. Give to God what belongs to God." Respecting the authority of the emperor, Jesus recognized the supremacy of Divine power which we should always do. Not only does power belong to him but it emanates from him. Before his majesty we all bow down and worship. |
