Moved with pity. This is not an ordinary feeling. The Greek word for this is "splagchnisthe" which is an internal movement of guts felt by those who are personally involved in a situation. Jesus had compassion (ability to suffer with) for the crowd troubled and abandoned like the sheep without a shepherd. Many people suffer. May we also have the capacity to suffer with them. |
