The cross is a school. It teaches us lessons in Christian discipleship. Our Master is Jesus himself. He teaches by example. He doesn't simply command us to bear our cross. He carried the cross ahead of us. From him
we learn the value of suffering. His own death makes us appreciate the joy of dying daily. The cross also teaches us the virtue of hope. It tells us that life conquers death. |
