St. Bernard of Clairvaux once said, "Those who love God are made happy by their love of him." Indeed, we benefit from the love we offer to God. In today's gospel, Jesus quotes the Old Testament "Shema" inviting us to love God with all our heart, soul and mind. When we love God we enter into a deep communion with him. Such encounter brings joy that is beyond human telling. |
