The rock [in Aramaic "Kepha"] which is rendered "Petrus" in Latin symbolizes the strong foundation of the Church. Despite the human weakness of Peter, the Church entrusted to him and to the apostles remains strong because of Jesus himself. Let us do our part to keep the good name of the church. Let us not tarnish this church. We do not allow the gates of hell to prevail against it. |
