Beyond the parameters of justice is the spirit of love. It was with that spirit that the owner of the vineyard treated the workers who came rather late. The parable which is basically an allegory centers on these words, "Are you envious because I am generous?" Let us be grateful to the Lord. He deals with us not only from the perspective of justice but from the dictates of love and mercy. |
