Love requires our readiness to be disturbed at all times. A loving person never says, "Do not bother me." The man, in today's gospel, could not refuse a friend's request. He saved the face of a friend who needed bread for his guest. Such capacity to forget one's convenience for the sake of another. To love is to make a sacrifice. It entails dying to oneself so that others may live. |
