When I got ordained almost thirty years ago, I pronounced my unconditional Yes. Everyday, I renew my priestly commitment. Today's gospel says, "Let your Yes mean Yes." I am fully aware that I cannot alter my response even if the world tempts me to abandon that sacred promise. Those who enter into a marital union
and those who pledge service to humanity are asked to publicly pronounce their Yes and live by it all the days of their lives. |
