We do the blessing with and always with the sign of the cross. It reminds us that the cross is truly a source of blessings. Today's gospel focuses on the cross as a condition for discipleship. One sure way to follow the Lord is to bear the cross. Are we complaining that our crosses are too heavy to bear? Let us not forget: We want a treasure of blessing, right? Then, let us carry that which contains it. |
