One of my books is entitled "Lapat sa Buhay." That is how I describe a homily. It must be applied to concrete daily life. Jesus' preaching was undoubtedly "lapat sa buhay." This Sunday's gospel is a testimony. By narrating the Parable of the Sower, Jesus drew his message from the ordinary farming and applied his message to a situation understood by the people. To be effective, let us preach as Jesus did.
