We should not romanticize Christianity. It is not as easy as we imagine it to be. Today's gospel dramatically changes our pre-conceived ideas about following the Lord. It is accepting the sword of division that defies peace. To be a Christian is to get ready to bear the cross and to take the consequence of being separated from the rest because of differences in standpoint. You can even make an enemy out of your household. Sad but true! |
