How does a disciple become an infant? Normally the Greek "nepios" refers to a child or infant but in today's gospel, Matthew uses the word to refer to the disciples and to the humble. A disciple is one who, with a childlike attitude and disposition, abandons himself to the loving care of the Lord. He raises his dainty hands and allows the Lord to hold him as he steps on the road of life. Could we be like that disciple turned into a child? |
