Carmel [from Karem-el] means garden or vine of God. In a garden, there is harmony with creation. Jesus, on the cross, established that harmony. Mary, standing near the cross, participated in that restoration of harmony between God and his creation. She continuously mediates between man and God with her maternal intercession. Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, pray for us. |
