Last July 16, I reflected on Mary's being the Mother of Hope especially during these troubled times. I did not know that on that same day, my brother Louie would enter the Kingdom of Hope. Today's gospel quotes the Prophet Isaiah, "In his name the Gentiles will hope." Although parting is painful, I am hopeful that Our Lady of Mt. Carmel has accompanied Louie to a place in heaven. In the presence of the Lord of hope, he shall be filled with true joy. |
