Root serves as a strong foundation. To be "deeply rooted" means to stand solid on a ground. With this context we can easily understand the Parable of the Sower. The first type of soil (rocky ground) represents those who heard the word but had no roots and lasted only for a time. If we do not allow the word to take roots in our hearts, it will never sprout, much less yield harvest. If we are deeply rooted, we have a strong foundation. Nothing can stop us from growing and bearing fruits. |
