"Mighty powers are at work in him." These words of Herod in reference to Jesus can very well be applied to St. Alphonsus whose feast day we celebrate today. During his life on earth, in his ministry as a priest and later as a bishop, the powers of God were truly at work in him. He wrote many books, founded a congregation and preached so well not because of his own capacity but moreso due to the might of God whose grace was working in him. |
