By his external looks, St. John Mary Vianney did not appear very tidy but he had a clean heart. Today's gospel emphasizes that what defiles a man is not what comes in (food and drinks) but what comes out (words and thoughts). Even if, like the Cure of Ars, we look unattractive, as long as our lives are holy, we will shine in radiance and will give glory to God. |
