Why scraps? Can we not enjoy the bread in full? The woman, in trying to defend her claim, spoke of dogs waiting for the scraps that fell from the masters' tables. If we apply it to our concrete situation, poor people only wait for surplus goods that come from the abundance enjoyed by the rich. Don't the less fortunate people have the right to enjoy the fullness of good things instead of only a part of them? |
