I am trying to imagine why Jesus put side by side his teaching on the children and on the lost sheep. What is common in both? I think the word is " incapacity." Both the children who are considered weak and the lost sheep are incapable of saving themselves. They need others' help. It is good to remember that we are at times incapacitated. It is an act of humility to admit that we are in need of assistance. If we are slaves of pride, we will always pretend to be strong even if we are not. |
