By the Official Delegates of the Second Synod of Lucena
7-11 June 2004
Aware of the unique responsibility and privilege extended to me as member of the Second Synod of Lucena, I, _____________________________________________ representing the (Clergy/Religious/Laity) of this diocese, pledge to participate conscientiously in this Synod with no other motive but the glory of God and the good of Holy Mother Church. I declare that I will be guided by my Catholic faith;
I believe in God the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth;
I believe in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord, who was born of the Virgin Mary, was crucified, died, and was buried, rose from the dead and is now at the right hand of the Father;
I believe in Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who came upon the apostles at Pentecost and remains with the Church today;
I believe in the holy, catholic, apostolic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.
I humbly invoke the prayers and guidance of the blessed Virgin, Queen of Apostles and Seat of Wisdom, of St. Ferdinand and the Patron Saints of all parishes and institutions in the Diocese to help me and all the members of this Synod to be faithful to our task and render it fruitful.
In the name and for the glory of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
